Program: Buddy Cruise

Program Description:

Families from across the globe take part in this unique yearly conference onboard a cruise ship. Educational sessions and events presented by experts in the special needs community including self advocates. Activities are planned for all ages and abilities. Families form lasting friendships with others who share the special bond of Down syndrome, learning from each other along the way. We raise the level of acceptance and promote Down syndrome awareness to the crew and other passengers onboard.

Program: Ambassador Program

Program Description:

Individuals from across the globe assist Buddy Cruise with awareness events and events in their own communities. They assist with various projects and unique programs such as the Ambassador Outreach. Ambassador Outreach was started by a Buddy Cruise Ambassador to provide resources to DS centers, groups, families in the ports we visit.

Program: Buddy on Tour

Program Description:

Buddy Cruise Inc. designed & brought to life “Buddy” the very first disability specific mascot! “Buddy” and his team tour the US visiting Buddy Walks, fundraisers & conferences to educate, spread awareness & promote Buddy Cruise.

Program: Soul Knows no Bounds

Program Description:

We encourage individuals with Down syndrome to share their story with us. We want to hear about self advocates who effectively communicate his or her own interests, needs, wants and rights. A panel will select one individual who has found a way to make a difference in their life by looking beyond their limits and finding their strengths, someone who has found a way through their own uniqueness to inspire others.

Program: Buddy Cruising in the Classroom

Program Description:

We’re implementing a program for schools that will teach typical children that children with special needs are like them, teaching inclusion & acceptance. We will have this program modified & delivered to school personnel, teaching benefits of inclusion, etc… with assistance from the National Down Syndrome Society.
